We went for a drive today and stumbled upon the best little store. It’s a turn-of-the-century general store which has been revived as an organic food store. There is a dance hall upstairs where bands play most weekends.
Inside, it looks pretty much exactly as a 1930s general store would look–if it were run by hippies. You can even buy glass-bottled soda from an ancient Coca-Cola machine.

If you ever have the chance to visit Sarnia, across the bridge from Port Huron, make sure you stop to get chips from a truck at the park under the bridge. They are The Best Fries I Have Ever Had. Really. Worth packing your passport for.
