Good texture, taste, and ingredients,
First off, this has a good texture for spoon feeding. It is puréed, but not runny or drippy. Some other brands I have tried, I have to mix in baby cereal to be able to spoon feed. All three flavors here have enough mushiness that I can scoop with a spoon and feed them.
Second, the ingredients are top quality. Too often, I will get a baby food that says it is one flavor or another, but has a lot of apple sauce. These are not like this. If the jar is labeled peas, the number one ingredient will be peas. This is less an issue with vegetables, but it’s still something I appreciate about Earth’s Best that they avoid fillers.
Third, these all taste fine to me. I try a little before I feed baby, because I want him to get a variety of flavors early to be adventurous and not picky later. All three of these have the taste of the vegetable (but, of course, the texture is flat purée).
The big disadvantage to these is the price. Babies R Us and other stores carry Earth’s Best, but everywhere it is a premium brand. Still, these are less watery than Gerber and other brands, so I feel I’m getting more of the vegetable and less water. I have not yet bit the bullet and paid full price, but maybe I will as I feel let down by the lower priced brands I am now trying out.
