i cut back on the chocolate and coffee as recommended in the recipe (20 oz and 5 oz respectively, iirc) down to 8oz chocolate, 3oz of locally roasted coffee.
this was one of the best kits i have brewed from Jasper’s, out of 15 or so… my wife tasted the GABF silver medal winning “candy bar milk stout” from a local brewer, and instantly said “YOURS IS BETTER” (speaking of this beer).

yes, they are two different styles of stout. yes, taste is subjective. but i had to agree with her. this is a winning recipe. i steeped the grains a bit high, at 160 to try and get more “body” from the beer..

if i do this again, i will add 1 vanilla bean, and let it age about 2 months in the secondary. this is by far the best tasting recipe i have done from Jaspers, and the only one that i have given 5 stars.

    Prosit!

My husband loved it. He is mainly a hop head, but tried this and loved the flavor!
