At Last a grain free granola! This Renola is so good I am addicted to it, and I am not kidding!
I have Celiac Disease and I’m also allergic to oats so most commercially made granolas I cannot eat. Even the gluten-free granolas often contain oats. So I usually make my own granola but it’s nice to have a ready made one on hand for those occasions when I just don’t feel like going through the motions of baking up a batch of grain free, gluten free granola that meets my diet restrictions.
This Larabar Renola granola is not just for breakfast. No. It makes an easy, healthy anytime snack and is also great for carrying during travel. And it’s nice for sharing too! I have even used it in my baking to make my gluten free vegan cookies and muffins a little bit more yummy. The flavor is lovely with just the perfect touch of cinnamon, vanilla and molasses.
I love the individual 1.25 ounce packages too. It is really the perfect serving with 200 calories per pouch. You may think the pouch looks small but trust me – almonds, pecans, cashews, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds and raisins pack a punch and are very satisfying and filling. But if you really want another serving, go ahead and enjoy! Just watch out – it is addictive!

I know it’s said these are “slightly sweet,” but to me they do taste pretty danged sweet; however, not to the point the packaged cereal granola is, so that’s a good point.
They are individually packed, which makes it convenient for “on the go,” or throwing in my workout bag when I’m training a client (I won’t eat them before my workout, though, most probably), or for when I am working on a novel or an editing project and need something quick and easy. I put them over my yogurt and fruit, as well.
I thought they’d be hard and crunchy -but the product is quite soft! I like this, as I have other granolas that about break my teeth.
I would like more nuts, but really enjoy the pumpkin seeds.
My brother eats gluten free, so since I am at the moment staying with him, I felt good ordering something that he could enjoy.
Do watch out as each of these small packages are 200 calories. Not bad for a snack, but just keep it in mind.

I was looking for a good to go snack for travelling as well as to have at work. Great without milk!…or any type of milk-like product. I have had it with almond milk and it is really nice. Nice flavor. The cocoa is not overpowering. Nice amount of crunch– not superhard or dried out like some brands. My reason for knocking down a star is the notch which is used to tear the pack open is at the top and you have to tear the pack open vertically.. makes a big mess….would be better package design to have it horizontally– that way the tear is horizontal and makes eating out of the pouch easier. I can just use my knife to open it or a letter opener, but that defeats the purpose of the notch on the package.
