The Best Chili Seasoning!, December 19, 2011

I’ve tried all of the chili seasonings and McCormick is definitely the best. McCormick Chili seasoning makes the best chili that I’ve ever tasted. I’ve even tried making it from scratch with chili powder and it wasn’t half as good as McCormick seasoning.

It’s so easy to whip up a batch of delicious chili with these packets. I make it in my crockpot and it takes very little time to assemble the ingredients, especially if you’ve already cooked the ground beef in advance. You just empty some cans of diced tomatoes and kidney beans into the crockpot. Add the cooked ground beef and McCormicks seasoning and you’ll have an economical and delicious dinner that makes the whole house smell great.

I was excited when I saw Amazon started carrying this product in a 24 pack box. My local stores charge up to $2 for each packet. When I make chili, I usually make a huge pot that requires 3 seasoning pouches. When you buy the packets at full price, it can really add up. I’m stocked up on my favorite chili seasoning now. I’ve got enough packets to make about 8 big pots of Chili this winter. I will continue to purchase this item from Amazon as long as they carry it for such a good price. With subscribe and save, I paid about 1/2 of what I’d pay in the regular grocery store.

This is the perfect blend of Chile Peppers, Cumin, onion, salt, and Garlic,
and gives a delicious back-ground flavor, with-out over-powering other ingredients.
Our family thinks this seasoning makes our Chile tastes professionally made.
This gives a rich ‘Chile’ flavor, not Con-Carne.

Unlike other seasonings that contain salt, this blend doesn’t have so much salt that it takes the place of adding it.
This 20 once bottle lasts us for quite a while, and doesn’t loose it’s freshness.
(We use all the McCormick seasonings and gravy’s, and tend to use up the gravy’s quicker then the seasonings)

Instructions for making Chile are under the back label ~
lift white arrow at left-hand bottom corner of back label.
There’s amounts of mix to use for yielding 4 1/2 cups of Chile to ~ 1 1/2 gal ~ and 6 gallons which requires the entire bottle.
Any amount can be made ~ just figure up or down from amounts given.

This is a great product to always have handy. It doesn’t contain MSG, or artificial flavors.
We’ve found all of these McCormick seasonings/gravy’s at Costco.

Update; Later same day ~ I can’t imagine the entire bottle making only 6 gal. (4 qt = 1 gal)
I just opened a new bottle and made a 5 1/2 qt pot of Chile,
I used approx 4 – 5 TB of this seasoning, which seasoned the pot fairly strongly
and the bottle only went down 1/2″, leaving 6 more inches to go.

Perfect for making my BBQ Rubs. Larger size is needed for multiple multiple and larger batches. I use large containers all the time. Top shake and pour works good. (Now I need to stop giving away my rub)!
