    Best Soup I’ve ever had from a package/can!, July 9, 2012

I have tried a lot of canned soup over the years for an easy and quick lunch and none of them compare. This is the first soup I’ve had in ages where the chicken isn’t tough or dry. It tastes like real chicken and doesn’t have that icky soup texture that most canned soups w/ chicken have. Also, the vegetable and beans – they give you a good mix of all items. It’s not loaded w/ the cheapest ingredient and only give you two chunks of the good tasting veggies that cost more. Plus the flavors are well rounded and it doesn’t have that chalky canned soup taste that most soups have.

I like to squeeze in some fresh lime juice and add a small spoon of light sour cream and this is a great, satisfying lunch that will stick w/ you. I will be putting this on my subscribe and save plan when I need to order next – so yummy!!

Also, if you have dietary restrictions like I do – I cannot eat gluten or yeast – this soup fits the bill. Thank you, Pacific, for making quality products that aren’t chock full of stuff that doesn’t need to be in them!!

This soup is hearty, great tasting soup that is perfect for those with food issues. I cannot eat gluten or yeast and I’m so happy this soup doesn’t have either! Thank you Pacific for making soups that aren’t full of stuff that doesn’t need to be in them.

Lunch-worthy, but high in sodium, September 11, 2013
    By

    Verified Purchase(What’s this?)
I bought this particular soup for work lunches during the fall and winter.
    What I like:
The packaging. I’m not a fan of the tinny smell of foods that are normally canned.
Flavor. Can’t echo the sentiment of previous reviewer of authentic Italian granny, but it tastes better than your average prepared soup.
Quality. The beans are whole, the veggies identifiable and the appropriate color (green beans are green and not grayish-brownish, carrots are orange, etc.) and nothing is mushy-yucky.
Convenience. I like that I can subscribe and have cases delivered 2x a year – in my area, it’s hit or miss on what flavors of Pacific soup my local stores stock, and most of the time it’s the more basic varieties.

The things other buyers might consider before purchase:
The sodium content is high. If you’re not on a low-sodium diet, it’s not any different than other prepared foods.
They use garlic powder, not fresh garlic. If you’re like me, garlic powder tends to linger on the palate.
Price. There are plenty of prepared foods at a lower price-point, but IMO the value for the price of Pacific Foods is there. “You get what you pay for” rings true in this case.
