As for being too sweet – that is an individual’s opinion and should not stop you from purchasing these. I like to pop one in my mouth and just suck on them rather than chew. It lasts longer and you don’t need too many to satisfy a craving for sweets. They are soft but not mushy. They are not dehydrated. I also like to make my own Trail Mix and these are perfect with salted peanuts, shelled sunflower seeds, golden raisins, dehydrated banana chips, pumpkin seeds and chopped (lightly salted walnuts). They add the perfect amount of sweet to my mix.
If you want the texture dryer – you will need to purchase Freeze Dried Pineapple. My husband has a serious sweet tooth and he will grab a snack size bag of these before any cookies or candy. That, in itself, is one of the reasons I always purchase large bags. Some for trail mix, some put in snack size Zip Lock bags and the rest left in the original bag they arrive in. They are high quality and always fresh.
