    This is truly the best old fashioned salt cured bacon I have had in fifty years. One taste reminds me of hog butchering day in the winter, and climbing the attic steps up to the attic to see and smell the wonderful hickory flavored hams and bacon slabs hanging from the rafters. When frying in the skillet, this bacon doesn’t shrivel up and cook away like the “bacon” you buy at the store. A little more expensive and worth every penny!

    I like the idea of slicing my own bacon from the slab because I can choose my desired thickness. I was warned about the saltiness of this product and indeed it is very salty unless I rinse each slice with water or soak in water before cooking (which was recommended), And that kept me from giving this product 5 stars. But the dry salt-curing means that this product will keep in my refrigerator or pantry longer until I open it, and that’s something that regular slab bacon from a butcher shop can’t lay claim to.
