Being Indian and living in Chicago I have eaten chicken tikka masala at a variety of Indian restaurants and many Indian weddings (it’s a popular dish at weddings). I’ve tasted some mediocre ones and others that I believe were not even tikka masala because not only they didn’t taste like it but didn’t even look like it But if you ever had the real deal you know it’s like eating nectar from the gods. So first off this not a sauce unlike how the picture shows but a paste so my thanks to the other reviewers that mentioned this. Second this does not remotely taste anything like tikka masala. It has a bitter aftertaste and is missing the deep rich tomato flavor. Even if you add the cream it still taste pretty bad so I would not even recommend this if you want the tikka flavor. Of all the KOI products the biriyani might be the best since the heavy clove like spice they use in all their mixes actually goes well with that dish. Otherwise I would say you might want to find a better alternative for your tikka masala. The best ones come in a simmer sauce like sharwoods tikka masala curry sauce which is a UK brand where this dish originated. If you are looking for organic option ‘ Seeds of change’ brand is another that tastes very good. ‘Tandoor chef’ also has a frozen one that really tastes orgasmic but the price is pretty high for it. Also stay away from the Pataks, Tiger Tiger, Passage to India brands because they also do not taste anything like tikka masala. Hope this helps.

Delicious, spot on CTM!!! Very mild both in spice and flavor. Perfect for Indian food beginners. It comes in a pouch like all the others. Very easy to use with a delicate tomato flavor not the over powering nasty ketchup flavor you get from many “Indian” restaurants. High quality and great value. Everyone who has purchased butter chicken and other flavors should definitely give this a go. I worked in an Indian restaurant for three years under an amazing chef. Very similar, very good can’t say enough!!!

I use these as a flavorizer to my plain old backpacking meals….I just add about a tablespoon of this stuff to my rice, meat, vegetable concoction, or whatever else…..then when I’m done, I just roll the foil pouch back up and stick it in a ziplock bag and throw it back in my pack for future use……so much flavor packed into just a tablespoon of this stuff you’ll think your food was prepared in an authentic Indian restaurant…..one foil pouch of this goes a long long way if you use this method.
