I was told by friends taking maca root powder to begin with only a quarter teaspoon on the first day and build up slowly over several weeks to using a full teaspoon. Maca root is very nutrient dense, and taking too much at once can cause discomfort.it also gives you a great deal of energy right after taking it, so be sure to have it in the morning so it doesn’t keep you up.
I have a Vitamix blender, so I add maca root to my smoothies. If the taste bothers you, which it shouldn’t as it’s very mild, it can be taken in veggie caps.This Organic Soul maca root powder is a bit different from most. It’s been gelatinized, which means that the fiber has been removed from it so that the nutrients are better absorbed into the gut rather than being bound to the fiber and expelled from the body. That means that this maca has less nutrients on paper, but the nutrients it does have are more bioavailable and readily absorbed by the body.

Due to a hormone imbalance, I still get adult acne but have noticed my skin clearing up more during my typical hormonal shifts. Extra bonus!
And yes, I can attest that this DOES increase libido, at least it did for me. That side effect wasn’t even on my mind, as I suddenly noticed near the end of the day that not only I had a lot of energy but…I had a lot of a different kind of energy. I kept pondering what it was that could have made a difference and then remembered that I had added Maca powder to my regiment that morning.
Overall, you can expect yourself to feel a good energy boost when you use this product. I typically mix it in with morning smoothie, protein shake, or post-workout juice. I’ve heard you can mix it in with baking products, but these ways have worked out so far for me.
Love the easy to open and close bag. Along with the the fact that it’s organic, it’s non GMO, and it doesn’t have any additives.

I am using 1/2 teaspoon and will work my way up to 1 tablespoon within the next 2-3 weeks for even more added benefits of this wonderful item. I noticed more energy the first day I used it in my smoothie and was a little skeptical. BUT I did it again the next day and YES I did feel more energetic, this is not typical for me and I attribute it to the addition of the Maca Powder in my eating plan. I also noticed a better mood more than usual also.
